Every year, Root Foundation celebrates the International Day of an African Child. This day has been celebrated on 16th June every year since 1991. This is always done in the context of jubilating every crucial step an African child goes through until they prosper. This year, the same marathon continues. Root Foundation will celebrate this day with the theme, “Education as a Human Right”. Every single African deserves a right to education at every point of growth. In a continuous mission to solve the problem of many street children that deserve a chance to live as well, Root Foundation has prepared an event that will help to create awareness of children’s rights and raise money to support the education of less privileged children that have an equal chance to change the world in future as well.
As this year’s theme is “Education as a human right”, we want to engage our community to celebrate this day and build capacity to solve the problem of school dropouts. Together with all children’s rights advocates and our friends in general, we are holding two events to collect donations for sponsoring the education of 500 street children and to sponsor the Personal development education of 1000 children in formal education. This day is dedicated to our children, their needs, and their future. Joining this celebration or donating to this celebration would be a chance to build an African child’s future by offering them the most essential current need for children which is education. When we create the future, we own it.
